NASBLA announces revised Boating Education Standard

The National Boating Education Standards Panel is pleased to announce the availability of the revised standard: NASBLA-103-2015: Basic Boating Knowledge - Power. The standard, a revision of the 2012 standard now in use across the U.S., is available for free download.

The standard will be submitted to the American National Standards Institute for public review and comment in the near future. Pending the outcome of that review, the recommended implementation date for the revised standard is January 2015 for course development or revision.

NASBLA mourns the passing of George W. Stewart Jr.

George W. Stewart, Jr. 1925-2014

 

Former NASBLA Executive Director and Delaware BLA George Stewart passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014. George lived a full and remarkable life from serving in World War II and Vietnam to being the first boating law administrator for Delaware (1973-1987). He then went to work for NASBLA, eventually serving as its executive director (1987-2005).

The Angling & Boating Alliance has reached consensus agreement on reauthorization priorities and statutory changes to ensure the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund's continued vitality and success as a “user pays, public benefits” program.
